Countries of Intervention: Sub-Saharan Africa: Burkina Faso, Ghana and Togo.
In Africa, women live in an extensive poverty and misery, incredibly out of control. Traditionally regarded as being assigned to the household, they have no access like men to education and training. They do not have land and other assets of production. Therefore, they do not have any substantial secure income. One could also notice their difficult access to healthcare and drinking water. They are very underprivileged, marginalized, oppressed and exposed to any kind of violence and inhumane humiliation. The inadequacy of economic and social legislation is not conducive to women advancement in Africa. The precarious situation of women, mainly those in rural areas characterized by a high rate of illiteracy is linked to their growing impoverishment. It is obvious that if women were aware of their conditions and their rights, they could improve their income and acquire skills that were traditionally denied to them, and consequently empowerment could follow. It is therefore clear that a better education and training of women would benefit the whole family and then all the society as a whole.
In order to address in a sustainable manner, the thorny issues of women emancipation and advancement, DedeFund has been created in order to work towards the full empowerment and the integral development of underprivileged and marginalized women in Africa at the social, economic, financial, health and education level for an effective participation in the process of sustainable human development.
